This is a great set of dumbbells, safe and more than anything is great if you have a small/medium size apt where you don't have enough space to buy a set of dumbbells.

Wanted something versatile without taking up a lot of space. So far I like what Bowflex has made. Quality construction. I have three gripes that I would like to see them improve on. 1) when you used anything 35+ they are quite bulky in terms of the space they take up. 2) they are touchy, be carefull because if you drop one, they are done. 3)rubber grips can get pretty darn slippery. I would prefer something with a rough surface. May need to swap in a supplement. Overall however, I would buy them again. Perfect if you are looking for a piece of free weight equipment that is easy to use and versatile.

I bought these on sale at Dick's sporting goods after reading about them on Amazon. The salesperson already owned a set and was completely satisfied. I am too. I could have spent thousands on a full set of weights, or over $500 a year at the gym. Instead I bought these and a nice bench for my home. I'm a long-time lifter and I know what i want out of a set of weights. These dumbbells provide exactly what I need for a hardcore workout in a package that can be easily placed out of the way when you're done. Great product.

Having moved and redesigned my workout room, I was a little tight for space and had no room for all my equipment. I sold much of what I had including my individual dumbbells and stand.
I saw these Bowflex and thought it was a good idea. All I can say is awesome.
My only complaint is that they feel a little awkward compared to individual dumbbells even more so working out on a bench.
This a great product that I recommend highly. Get the stand as it makes it easier to lift when working out with higher levels.
Convenient....and compact October 15, 2009

I'm running through varieties of the P90X and Power 90 workout programs and got these to assist me in that regard. They do eliminate a whole lot of the clutter you'd normally have if you had multiple dumbbells. The only issue I'm running into is the length of the dumbbell. When doing curls with both, I have to cant them slightly outward to avoid clinking them into each other. No big deal, as one of the variations of the biceps curls uses this specific movement but that's my only ding on the dumbbells. Changing weight is easy and fairly quick. I'd read some reviews complaining about the possiblity of the thingamajig (official name) that holds the weight in place breaking but have yet to notice any issues there. Good stuff and the price keeps falling.
