Very heavy and somewhat difficult to set up. Seat a little hard to adjust for different sized people. I'm 6'4", 250 (losing a little with this), and am at the limit for size. I'm also extremely mechanical minded, own a bunch of tools, and still had some probs with assembly. Rides very smooth, really gets your system pumping, easy controls, etc.
I would purchase it again knowing what I know now.

I received my shipment in a battered box just like everyone else. All was intact (just like everyone else). I am a 56 year old women and it took me three hours to put this together. Once I got the bike together the levels would not change. I called customer support and he asked me to check the connections on the computer. This was the difficult part. The wires with the man/female connectors is not long enough. You have to connect it to the computer and than feed it through the post that holds the computer and connect it at the bottom. If you are not careful when you are putting this together it can come loose and than some part of the computer doesn't work (mine was the level button). I was able to get it connected and back together and it worked fine. The bike is great for the price, good quality, quiet, and smooth. The seat is very comfortable. I enjoy exercising again. I highly recommend this bike, their are more pluses than minuses.

After reading the reviews for the differnet recumbent bikes I chose the Schwinn 213 for my first home recumbent bike. I was nervous about having to assemble the bike myself and had the number of a professional handyman handy. To my suprise the bike was very easy to assemble without any help. I loved the way the directions and screws were laid out in the order that you use them. I blocked off an entire Saturday to assemble my bike, I was finished in under 2 hours.
There is only one negative thing I can mention regarding the 213 and that is that there is no on/off button and motion near the bike can activate it oterwise I love it, it adjust perfectly to my 5'4" height and the seat is vey comfortable.
Very sturdy and quiet December 15, 2007

I've been using this bike for four months and am satisfied. It is very quiet, the tension controls work well and the programed workouts are varied. The only drawback is that I am fairly short (5'4) and the angle of the LCD screen is a little hard to see when I'm sitting on the bike. It would be better if I could adjust the screen a little bit lower but that is a small quirk. When I bought the bike I got it on sale ($360) and received free shipping. When it arrived the box had broken and it was in pieces but everything was there and undamaged. I reported it to Amazon and they gave me a $15 credit for my trouble.

I was a bit skeptical about ordering the Schwinn 213 Recumbent Exercise Bike knowing I would need to assemble the product. The instructions and parts packaging were incredible! All of the parts were sequentially packaged corresponding with the steps from the instruction book. The instructions were clear and very easy to read. The best part of this purchasing experience is that the bike is easy to operate, comfortable, and very quiet. I highly recommend the Schwinn 213 recumbent bike to anyone looking to begin an exercise program or that already has a regular routine.
